Growing Up Living Down Poem by Dale Barnes

Growing Up Living Down

I Stared straight up at the Cool SummerMoon and Stars…
Laying Flat in that…
Frequent Field of Dark Warm Pansies...

“Why is the Sky Blue Mommy…Why am I…
Here? ”

Crayons cost Money…Rocks work well in dirt.

The little girl next door got Scared on the back porch.

Ships in Bottles. Indecisions. Alcoholic Ingenuousness.

Debbie Gittlin Peed her Pants in Class. I Cried.

Everyone Else on Earth Laughed…Teacher.

Star Trek Episodes. Youth Euthanasia. Mod Squad.

TV commercial jingles…Pseudo National Anthems.

LSD. Sights, Sounds and Smells of…

Pentecostal Infection.

Buddhist Desires.

Where is that Land I Need for My Teepee.

Long Silent Explosions. First smiles from a Girl.

Night flowers…Last Calls. Scorched distant years.

Blue Collar College. Voyeur Curriculums.

Racing down roads because there are no others.

Bailiff’s calling…Me. Fireflies leaving…Angrily.

DNA demanding action. Future Breaths Insured.

Birthing Names. Learning of Class Canyons…

I am now become the Human Meat,
Thrown…
Selfishly Into the Societal Grinding Mechanism That feeds All Of Us Modern Animals we Are.

Welcome to the World.
    
My Only Hope Mon Ami…is that Redundancy does not exist near or within Me.

I wish to Only Harvest Goodness and Smiles whilst I Grind to a Sudden Halt.

I Aim to Find the Meaning of it All For Us…

You are So Welcome During the Ride.
