Guardian Poem by Tony Berbechinie

Guardian

As the sky is tucked away, kissed goodnight
I awaken
Awakened by the duty I must preform
In day I am calm
But by night
A swirling flame!
A fury draws out the slumber
Watch the night; as if it was a criminal-whispers of past lives tell me
Murderer! Thief! The dead men yell
Only to be drowned out by an endless struggle

A spectacle to behold,
The forces meet waning, waxing-
The cold salty mist of his breathe
Smashes off, as to make me falter-I cannot
Light forever turning carries on-
for I am a guardian of the night
