Guardian

Guard well our bell, our precious little one.
Give her comfort, she needs support not fear.
Give to our dove our love, her life begun.
Guard her, for she is dear, our little dear.

Dispel demons' vile light in her long night.
Do not tarry or cause her great worry.
Delight in role she needs to settle fright.
Dance forever, but please, never hurry.

Though rely on that hours and days will fly
Till tagging ‘long is no longer required.
Then it's time to rest, refresh and stand by
Till she needs you so stay true, well attired.

Her guardian, her friend, every aware.
How dear you are to her, her teddy bear.

This is a lovely and beautifully written sonnet. I can see any parent reciting this for their little one and even as a prayer which is what I thought it was until the sweet little surprise in the end. Excellent write full of heart.
