Guardian Of Guidance Poem by Wendy Bureau

Guardian Of Guidance

Rating: 3.5

Oh, guardian of guidance, reprieve
With wisdom in toe, in hopes to conceive
Teachings are that of higher power
To avenge me upon this wicked hour

Hour of darkness, and time stood most still
To redeem ones’ self, that of sacred will
Seconds tick by, like sand through a sift
Minutes melt, whilst memories, float adrift

Float adrift, soaring on boundless winds
Spirits freed and singing, cleansed of all sins
Whistling and chanting, mumbling of song
Rehearsed humming, embraces all, who belong

Belonging to, as if owned, or simply enslaved
Constricted within the confines, my skin, my cave
Cowering unseen, beneath this epidermal wall
Oh, guardian of guidance, raise me up, without fall
