Guilt And Sorrow Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Guilt And Sorrow

'Twas a first time crime of petty larceny
and how they regretted their teenage vice
Not a prison Sentence surely...
Would not 'fines and fees' suffice?

Prisons today are overburdened
capturing our thoughts once or twice!
Teenage hope for leniency tells a story
Would not 'fines and fees' suffice?
