Handsome Poem by Mahathi Mydavolu

Handsome

You're handsome O my Lord, but I'm awkward.
With Sun and Moon in eyes, exuding light
With curved and lovely lips that speak no word,
with charming face you look so great to sight.

But who am I; a mortal with little
Skin bag of brittle bones and filthy flesh.
You're free to do your whims but I whittle
With every thought and act, always in mesh.

We call you God, the Almighty, we pray
And beg for alms, long staring at your sly
Simpers, so unaware of your real play.
Yes you're so handsome Lord, we can't decry.

Don't take umbrage at my burlesque my Lord.
Oh after all I'm your one crying ward.
