If my silence has voice, I'm sure you're there
listening to my woe. If stony face
my has some etched pain-lines you sure aware
of them. Yes Lord...I'm wating for your grace.
...
I close my eyes and keep I chanting the names
Of Ram! So many oh so sweet, so sweet
While trying to visualize His mystic games,
His form, His frame, His smile and Him complete!
...
The swan is set to fly away alone.
From earth-pilgrimage it's time to unwind.
No memories are saved of mortal zone...
of stone or bone...nor traces left behind.
...
With tears bubbling from eyes I prayed again
The Lord in holy sanctum sanctorum.
This's some tenth temple where I prayed with pain.
There's silence except house flies' endless hum.
...
Don't stop but pamper Him, that prowler sly
Toddling with grace towards your kitchen door.
Be sly like Him and His exploits espy!
That thief, the worlds don't hate but sure adore,
...
OM SRI HARI
How far is Vaikunta from Earth O Lord
How fast Lord Garuda can fly in sky

That orphan loves an open opera.
A one-man play, He Himself acts and He
the audience. Umpteen times played and saw
but never tired of bland redundancy.

Is it that place, where he said he fell once,
but soon on his feet to make his strides?
Is that the garden he described ere,
now you're staring at

Oh why I'm suffering from woe and fear.
It seems some ghoul is holding me by rein.
You only can help me O Mother dear.
...
When he walked,
the path like a magic carpet
rolled down under his feet
following him.
...
I'm on my way to the mountain cap.
I make my journey sweet and high.
It's up to you O boy, to wrap
your nap and tread the path my nigh.
...
I cleansed my body, watched my breath, explored
the mind, expounded deep wisdom and dwelled
in rhapsody. But still a vacuum welled
inside drifting with it some flotsam stored.
...
The rain that's lashing out at mountains, spires
Tall trees and huts abates when dazzling Sun
Reveals himself from cloud-curtains with fires
And yells at downfall, hey stop thee... it's done.

A knot after a knot, one more and more!
Before he felt the ease of loosening
umbilical cord, he saw through opened door
a waiting world of tangled mortal strings.

When still a nestling, I learned to flutter wings
to soon return to roost... my mother's lap.
When young it was freedom-I flew with winds
across and too against. I stopped to flap

Behind the rousing silvery milky way,
they say there lies a carnivore black hole!
I never saw, but take that as the truth.

I know, I am tilling a barren land.
But this was once a desert, where serpents
wiggled for rats below the dancing sand

O God of Universe, O Lord of love,
Accept my prayers, and listen to my woe.
Can thee spot me O Lord, a man in cove
Amongst a billion humans on a show? !

When legs are tied and hands are busy, don't
you worry! When your lips are sealed, your eyes
are closed and ears are plugged, oh never moan!
They're vain by mortal vein...but pleas no lies!

Blurb MYDAVOLU VENKATA SESHA SATHYANARAYANA who writes with the penname ‘mahathi' was born on 12th June 1958 in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is a post-graduate in law and once a practicing lawyer in Nellore and later an officer in Central Industries Ministry. He headed the Law section and won all cases for his Department. His poetic language and command over English language brought him many commendations from his bosses. He retired from Government service in 2014 as Superintendent of Salt in Gazetted rank. His earlier poetry, mostly free verse, veered around Leftist ideology. His earlier works viz. Golden Lotus, Plastic Faces, Wheels, and Just Human were mostly on burning social issues and human psychology. He translated Mr Perugu Ramakrishna's poems as Rosette. But, later he turned more towards spiritual poetry and started writing great epic poetry. As his first attempt towards spirituality, he translated Bhaja Govindam of Sri Sri Sri Audi Sankaracharya, which became a part of his book I Chant, Chant and Chant, along with other spiritual poems. His first biggest attempt was re-creating Sri Sundara Kanda, the fifth Canto of Srimad Ramayanam, with the title Finding the Mother. His family deity is Brahmarshi Sri NARADA PARABRAHMA. Mahathi is a staunch devotee of Sri NARADA PARA BRAHMA and worships Him regularly. All his poetic talent is His alms only. There are no two thoughts about this fact. This book was well received and praises were showered. Then, he continued his spiritual journey by writing Hare Krishna (which was published again as a second edition with the title The Ballad of Little Krishna. The book is selling very well ever since it hit the market. His next attempt was a translation of Saagara Ghosha by great Telugu poet Sri Garikipati Narasimha Rao with the title Ocean Blues. In 2018 he again hit the spiritual track by writing The Ganges and Other Poems, the story of the descent of the divine river Ganga from heavens to earth. This book was considered an all-time classic by experts. All these books were written in metrical verses of various forms. In all these books the author not only narrates the stories beautifully but also tries to explore the deep inherent and holy philosophical aspects of the great epics. Besides, out of friendly compulsions, he also translated two Telugu books with the titles You, I and Love, a collection of romantic poems and Mind a Miracle, a collection of psychological poems by Dr K. Prabhakar Reddy and Smt. T. Janaki, respectively. His biggest translation work was OCEAN BLUES. He translated 1116 poems of SAGARA GHOSHA of Sri GARIKIPATI NARASIMHA RAO a famous Telugu and Sanskrit scholar, poet and Pravachaka into blank verses. His poems were published in several print journals and magazines like Poets International, Metverse Muse, Rock Pebbles, Kavya Bharathi (India) , Teesta Journal, Westward Quarterly Magazine(Illinois) Society of Classical Poets (New York) , Bhakti Nivedana (US) , Scarlet Leaf (Canada) , Sparks of Calliope (US) , FREE EXPRESSION (AUSTRALIA) and won many prizes. Grace
If my silence has voice, I'm sure you're there
listening to my woe. If stony face
my has some etched pain-lines you sure aware
of them. Yes Lord...I'm wating for your grace.
What if I don't say prayers, and paeans sing;
What if I don't burn incense, light a bright
oil wick and offer you some sweet pudding;
as you're the Savior, you're the word the light!
But yet oh roil a billion muddles
inside my mind and heart my seeks answers
to doubts and lo a lot of twined riddles
surround my being like dancing cruel lancers.
Well then whom else I seek the alms of bliss.
I try and try until I gain noesis.
