Happen - Poem by Brian Hinckley
Odd thoughts,
racing pulse.
Did what happened
really happen,
or was it just fantasy?
Oceans of feelings,
raging seas,
fling my mind about.
Did what happened
really happen,
or was it just a memory?
Two clicks
and the chamber is empty;
but no gun to my head,
the gun was never real.
Did what happened
really happen,
or was it illusion?
Living a life
where I am center stage,
grinding words
for the world to enjoy.
Did tonight really happen,
or is it tomorrow that's the lie?
