Happily Indentured Poem by Dean Meredith

Happily Indentured

I'm all ears for her
Where was I?
When the bed broke

She's very kind
The way she forgives me
For my exuberance

Even spurs me on
Such a giving thing
And I a mere adventure

Treated so well
More than a hired hand
She does love her horsey

I'd never dream
Of being master
Of her manor

She is gone
And I am too late
Distractions of duty

We scour
Grounds and halls
Nowhere to be found

The hounds frantic
Ah the maze
She has me again
