Happiness

Happiness
Is not
Just an emotion.
It is
A state of mind
From which
To live life.
It is
The centering
Of the soul
On what is important.
This focus
Allows
The beauty
Of a sunrise
To be remembered,
Or
The, “I’m sorry, ”
To be cherished
After a fight.
It must be
Nurtured
Like a flower,
And
Practiced
Like a prayer.
Happiness
Is
God’s gift
To us.
