I knew you through the web wide world
-A man of godliness and toil;
You knew me by poems unfurled,
Met me, hugged me and found my soil.
God gave us both, fine wings to fly,
And reach some dizzy heights in sky;
Life was bit cruel, God was kind;
He helped us both, reform mankind.
You kept so busy all through life,
And wasted not your precious time;
You kept steadfast amidst much strife,
God gave to make your life sublime.
May God shower His grace today -
Has come your eighty-fifth birthday;
May He keep you alive and fit,
And make your life's century-hit!
‘Happy birthday, dear Poet Rajaram Ramachandran! '
On behalf of all poets and poetesses, known to you
