Happy Republic Day, India 2020 Poem by Dr John Celes

India - Our Motherland is always good!
Its people, leaders are good, so
Republic Day elates the people's mood,
As festivities show.

The diversity is so vast - our bond,
Uniting us in every way;
The love of land and fellowmen - our wand,
That's magic like a Fay.

Democracy prevails for many years;
The people vote the ones in helm;
A song of peace is sung unto our ears,
Which foes can't overwhelm.

Here live more than a billion souls with hearts
of love, in peace that never fades;
Their brains are smart and hands quite skilled in crafts,
And land's like Everglades.

All laws are made for people's good and sake;
None should divide or hurt a soul;
Let's pull out weeds and ones that are fake,
preserving aims, and goal.

By people empowered, most laws are made;
Safe-guarded are existing ones;
When anti-people, laws can't stay but fade;
Disliked, the people trounce.

Let calm and happiness prevail all days;
No foes can break our harmony;
All Indians slog for country's good always,
And grow like ebony!
