Harbour Of Lost Dreams Poem by Paul Miller

Harbour Of Lost Dreams

Rating: 5.0

In this harbour of lost dreams
Life is steady, so it seems
Steady, pulling at my sleeve
Steady, calling 'Don't believe,
Don't believe
The stories told
As you unfold
An empty wallet
Full of holes
A tale of economic woe
Is that your truth? No! Never! No! '
So let me wander, have a smoke
And laugh out loud
Now I'm flat broke
And wet through, so much rain
I watch some coins roll down a drain
Yes, let me walk out in the dark
To find a light, a little spark
I used to see that in your face
A light that lit the human race
Has it gone?
Gone?
Oh no...
I watch a ship sail out of view
Broken, rusted... nothing new
I will swim in its wake
Another journey I take
