Hard To Let You Go Poem by Nelson Mugisha Mulera

Hard To Let You Go

Never knew that time would come,
When I would hold you in my arms,
Never knew that time would come,
When you would gaze at me and say ‘I love you’.

With my heart I waited,
In earnest prayer I clothed,
Watching your every tide,
Hoping that someday I would ride.

To and fro you and i played,
In our emotions we portrayed,
The very deepest feeling
We delayed.

Into another’s arms you now lay,
In his bosom you delay,
In comfort you can’t portray,
You are tied up, you can’t stray.

In regret i listen,
To you, as you unwind
Your pleasure in your words,
Wondering where I went wrong
Wishing I had known better.

Now that you are gone
I need to find another
To love and to hold
Hope i will be happy their arms.
