Harijans Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Harijans

Harijans,
Hari's people,
Hari means God,
So God's people.

And those are Harijan bastis,
Harijan's hamlets and slums,
Poor people's,
Oppressed and suppressed people's.

You try to love them,
Treat them not as outcats
As they are not
Are men, men,
Same men.

Maybe it there is something
Wrong or right culturally
As for illiteracy, poverty, habit
And other differences,
Drinking habit and societal norms.

Maybe it their drinking habit,
Marriage and re-marriage,
Ignorance, feud, sub-cultural aspects,
Eat, drink and be merry culture.
