Harlot - Poem by Louise Du Preez

Harken unto me
Of my self-disdain
Though the mindful raputre
My harbingers of pain
Like Lucifer's pride
I bare haughtry solitude
Only to tempt others to my lair
A harlequin of all dark dispairs
This is my anarchy
And all of my apathy

Stylistically powerful, this poem condenses very well the significance of a life. Lucifer can return to the light because this narrative is in progress. I've harkened unto it late but not too late. (Report) Reply
