Hatred Is A Wasted Energy Poem by Francis Duggan

It is a wasted energy the thing that's known as hate
With it health problems for yourself you even can create
It can land you in trouble with the law when it leads to serious crime
And because of it you waste the best years of your life serving out prison time
With an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth I for one cannot agree
Let a bygone be a bygone seems better far to me
Old grudges that are nursed for years into hatred does grow
But such angry feelings harmful to you as history tells us so
The negative memories of the past for you best to leave go
For the person who has done you wrong karma mercy will not show
For karma does exact it's price and often can give rise to woe
'Tis true we do receive from life the fruits of the seeds we sow
Hatred is a wasted energy I only say what's true
Since the he or she who has done you wrong to karma must pay what's due.
