From clay of earth, I shaped you fine;
With heart of love, I gave you life;
To look like me, I gave image;
To be like Me, I gave you soul;
‘Have I forgotten you? ’ asks God.
In mother’s womb, I knew you well;
By sweet your name, I called you then;
Your growth each day, I watched with care;
A lovely birth, I wished you had;
‘Have I forgotten you? ’ asks God.
In testing times, I stood by you;
Your wants of life, I met in time;
When trials came, I was beside;
With love and care, I saw you grow;
‘Have I forgotten you? ’ asks God.
Against your foes, I waged your wars;
In thick and thin, I guided you;
When you were ill, I healed you fast;
When you did well, I blessed your toil;
‘Have I forgotten you? ’ asks God.
When you had prayed, I answered you;
When you had sinned, I forgave you;
When you were sad, I made you smile;
When you fell down, I helped you up;
‘Have I forgotten you? ’ asks God.
