Have You Lost All Hope Poem by Mohammad Younus

Have You Lost All Hope

Have you lost all hope
in your search for the divine?
Have you ever looked at the sky
as dawn stretches its golden arms?
Do you not see the sun rising,
or its ember glow as it sets?

The night, veiled in her black hijab—
do you not find her beauty hidden there?
Do you not see the moon trailing behind,
or stars, eternal, lighting your way?
The full moon returns, again and again—
do you not pause to wonder?

You close your eyes, blind to it all,
while the divine reveals Himself in glory.
Open your heart—let it embrace
the splendor of His ever-present grace!
Your true self, nestled deep within,
longs to see Him here, yet you look beyond.

Do you not drink from His eternal spring,
the water that quenches every thirst?
Wash your face, your spirit, your soul—
let His cascading light cool your eyes.

Look to the seasons—
summer brings abundance, autumn its harvest;
winter offers its quiet gifts,
and spring, a symphony of life.
Can any mother fill her table
with such boundless fruit for her children?

No mother can nurture as He does,
no hands can bless like His.
You cannot deny it,
cannot turn away.
Such is the divine,
always present,
always near.
