Having Watched Dark Gray Clouds Poem by David Howerton

Having Watched Dark Gray Clouds

Having watched dark gray clouds
all morning, then falling asleep
through lunch didn't notice
first few large drops rain.

Strangely first few hit me in face
from which groggy I woke
not knowing where.

Then quick realized the rain
was getting harder and I wetter
cussing with a smile wandered
back into house
for coffee and a turkey sandwich.

Just ruined a pretty dream.
