Hazel-Eyed Memories Poem by Muhammad Jackson

Hazel-Eyed Memories

It took me time to realise,
The beauty in forgotten times,
Sweet melodies in lonely rhymes.

Now the thoughts have turned to dust,
In every memory in my mind,
I see the lessons, all lost to find,

The sea is churning to the skies,
To seek the best in loneliness,
Be the light through the darkness.

As the days start to fade away,
So does all my confidence,
My wishes left to consequence.

This life was mine to make of it,
Yet after all that I been through,
The only thing I need is you.

I am nothing but who I am,
But you could see the best in me,
Made my world easier to see.

Before you I refused to try,
To see the pure in all the pain,
Feel the good while lost in vain.

With my new hope in life,
I gaze back to when we were free,
You'll forever be my hazel-eyed memory...
