He’ll Light Your Candle Poem by Marilyn Lott

He’ll Light Your Candle

My heart felt dull, without spark
Life was more than I could handle
Until one day I realized
That the Lord could light my candle

I was shocked, could not believe it
It was like the sun came up for me
The dark shadows that I lived with
Had lifted and now I could see

Where once the gray encased
Everything in my dark world
Suddenly the colors astounding
As they spun, twinkled and swirled

How joyful my existence became
As I opened up the doors to life
I smiled now instead of frowning
At my kids, my dog and wife

It was like the roof of my life
Had opened to the sky
I loved my life and family now
I never even questioned why

But I do know one thing, my friend
When life is more than you can handle
Let God give brightness to your life
For He will always light your candle!
