He Loves Your Soul (Sonnet #233) Poem by Tina Rizk

He Loves Your Soul (Sonnet #233)

Why do you love him so? love asked my heart.
Because his soft heart floods with tenderness.
I live in union with him as at the start;
Since the dawn of time, our love is endless.

Love mused: Ah, but hearts change, he will too!
He changed indeed and became tenderer.
In his hands, my heart saw heaven's own hues.
He's my soulmate; our love is meant forever.

Now I see it, love observed, he loves your soul.
You both were Adam before the split up.
When love beats from the soul, it lasts evermore.
Pilgrims, you're meant to return as one to God.

Love built a small house and stayed in my heart:
'I will be your beacon, till beyond the stars.'
