He Still Whispers Poem by Cecil (cj) Krieger

He Still Whispers

There are signs
Which tell me that you've been here
Uncontrollable signs
Like my repeating your name out loud
Over and over
Or the carefully folded corner
Of a book that you left
Unfinished
Some of these I can remove
While others that remain
Like my heart
You have taken far away
And though I have promised
To never speak your name again
Occasionally
When no one can hear
I still whisper

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The story of a man who lovingly morns the loss of his wife. This is one of my all time favorites.
