Before She Says Goodbye - Poem by Cecil (C.J.) Krieger

She never looks at me anymore
At least not in the way she use to
Always seeming to be in thought
Always looking somewhere else
Although I know she knows I’m watching
I have no words
She’s heard them all
But somewhere deep inside
She knows I still love her
At night
When we make love
Her eyes are distant
Almost as if she were not there
It will only be a matter of time now
Before I turn around
And find that she is gone

Topic(s) of this poem: goodbye, lost love

This is very painful- experiencing the moment when your near and dear one is about to bid final adieu. Very poignant. Thanks, Cecil. (Report) Reply

Love too changes it's forms with passage of time like any other living being. In the changed circumstances it's expression too changes, however, it doesn't mean that it is on the wane and will soon disappear.
A beautiful poem with smooth flow of emotions. Enjoyed reading the thought provoking write. Thanks for sharing.10 + points.
