Healing Continued: Remember - Poem by Whitney Jones Olson

Remember -
to keep feeling. To keep your heart next to your pillow each night, letting it comfort you, holding your heart 'as though it were home, ' and letting it rest.

Remember -
to pick up your heart the moment you awake, and to carry it with you through the long day - to realize all the progress that can be made in twelve hours, and to keep your logic leashed that you might achieve it.

Remember -
to take the hard way out,
to hurt, and cry when you feel like crying.
to enjoy, and revel without responsibility when la vita e bella.

Remember -
to be kind, gentle and compassionate; ever forgiving.
Be generous and humble in your growth, and all good things will come to you.

Remember -
to nurture your body as the gateway to your soul,
and your soul as the gateway to true starry-eyed love;
both for yourself and for another.

Remember -
to write a poem every day, to remind yourself where your heart lies,
and to make sure you're really living.

Remember to read this when you want to run;
it is your beginning.
