Healing Is Hard! Poem by Emma Jane Rae

I struggle to find the words,
To tell you how much you've hurt my heart,
How devastating it was,
To watch you rip my world apart,
I'm overwhelmed,
By all these emotions that I feel,
It's a sad and lonely place,
When your desperate for your soul to heal,
You can distract yourself,
You can journal, you can draw, you can read,
But sometimes dark thoughts,
Creep In and affect your mind like a weed,
It's heart wrenching, it's raw,
It's a bitter pill to swallow,
But tomorrow is not promised,
We are living on time that is borrowed,
All I can do,
Is try my best,
He's my heart,
Allow time to rest,
Try not to look back,
With only anger on my bones,
Find a safe place Inside myself,
That I can really call home,
I've got a lot of work to do,
To make sense of this mess,
So on those days I feel like giving up,
I need to love myself more not less.
