Balance, find balance between these.
Such is the story of the mind and heart.
For when the heart speaks,
it is the mind which chooses to listen.
What the heart entreats, the mind regrets,
and what reason the mind declares,
the heart cannot bear to hold.
So is this plight between emotion and reason.

'Listen to your heart' they say,
Until it is hurt..
'Follow the reason of the mind' they utter,
only to find a loveless void...
So does one listen to that wanting heart,
or take the way of daunting reason?
This mind commands, 'follow me',
The heart whispers, 'walk my path'

Take sides entirely, troubles one will find,
Tug on both equally,
They dominate and overwhelm this imperfect body.
So find me this balance of reason and emotion-
The heart and the mind.
So contrary they are,
But as forces which contest-
set apart, they cannot be.

And while they speak,
It is as if they know me.
As the moon understands the meaning of the sea,
so does the mind know the passion of the heart.

So search for me Heart and Mind,
Speak so as to listen,
And to me, be patient
Partial, I'll try not to be,
But one thing I now ask is this balance,
For one day heart and mind, I will search for you.
And one day-you will answer.
