Heart Inside Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Heart Inside

Silent screams and broken dreams
sweating and bleeding, innocence lost
darkness, and crying in your sheets

Smiling, denying, and more crying
falling, drowning, dying
washing but you can't scrub it off

In you, inside you, wrapped around you
smothering you, tied to you, lied to you
beaten, punched, squeezed, defied you

blaming you, taming you, breaking you
damning you, hurting you, choking you
and nobody believes you

Trapped, smashed, smacked, smeared
yelled at, sneered at, spit at, tarnished
unable to grieve, forced do deceive
Lies, lies, lies you scream
but nobody hears you

How can you love anymore?

How can you trust anymore?

Heart inside
longing, dreaming
believing, hoping,
pleading, silently screaming
wanting to be pure again
pretty agian
believe again
trusted again
loved

Who can you love anymore?

Who can you trust anymore?

Love songs, fairytales
dreams,
wishes, sharing
caring, feeling,
believing, affection, connection,
comfort, serenity, affinity...
LOVE

Why try anymore?

Why risk anymore?

Kindness, caring, understanding,
trust,
feeling,
dreaming, hoping
wishing, touching, revealing,
reaching out, holding close,
laughing, crying,
feeling

LOVE :)

Raindrops,
rainbows,
moonbeams, holding hands,
walking, sharing,
hugs and kisses felt,
heartbeats, songbirds,
flowers, starlight, happiness,
warmth, security, softness, caring

LOVE!

HEALING!

Children,
Family,
gardens, happiness,
games, holidays, picnics
memories, school, sports,
church, movies, freinds, family dinners,
joking, laughing, loving one another, dealing

LIVING!
