Heart Of Stone Poem by Montaha Gasir

Heart Of Stone

1,2,
Begin the count.
My calming strategies,
I try to recount.

3,4,
Relax my fists.
Breathe in and out,
Focus on the lists.

5,6,
Ignore the remarks.
If a dog spoke,
Would you reply with barks?

7,8,
Ice sets in.
Ignorant bodies,
Won't break my skin.

9,10,
Walls are up.
Tune them out.
Fill up my cup.

Frozen tone.
Heart of stone.
Cold to the bone.
Leave me alone.
