What do you do when he breaks your heart,
When you were sure you'd never part,
When you were sure your love was true
And then he went and shattered you,
What do you do?

What does it mean when he betrays,
Leaves you crying days and days‎,
Assassinates your self-respect,
Leaves you lying derelict,
What does it mean?

To me, it means he's not the guy
With whom for life you choose to lie,
He has a problem, sure as hell,
And you can't help him break the spell,
That's what it means.

Stay a friend if you feel you must
But never, ever yield your trust‎,
Extend your hand but not your heart,
It may be hard but you must be smart,
You must be smart.
