Epidemiologists and doctors,
Science of the many and the one,
Working hand in hand, real rock stars,
Slaying the assassin ere begun.
I write this in the middle of the mess
As all of us try to bend the curve,
Will it work? Of course, we yearn for 'yes',
And so we wait - do our best to serve.
Most of us are hunkered - gloves and masks,
Distancing from all but loved ones near,
Disbelieving those in search of casks
As they frolic in the sand around the pier.
Pray, their selfishness won't curse
Our heroes, the doctor and the nurse.
