Deep Love Poem by gary polonsky

Deep Love

Rating: 5.0

Music in the air,
Landscape with her hands -
What's the message there
That lands?

Searching, ever searching,
And when the search is done,
Instead of peace, she's lurching
To the sun.

Stronger, higher, brighter,
The essence of her love,
‎Icarus alights her
Above.

Instead of liberation
As poets will adhere,
She conjures the creation
Of fear

Even though those poets,
Ambassadors of bliss,
Undertake to quote us
A kiss

And not just any kiss
But one that sears the soul,
Releasing all the hissssss
Of coal

But where does all this lead her
If confidence implodes?
The peace that ought to feed her
Explodes!

With her true love whom she'll meet
In the panoply of time,
She'll cite the light and heat
In rhyme

With ver‎ses that enchant,
Physics will release
Molecules that grant
Her peace.

And when there is a stumble,
The pageant of our way,
Every night, the tumble
In hay.

For there should be no doubt
She'll steer her ship of joy,
And when the tide comes in,
Ahoy! ! !
