Heartburn Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Heartburn

Anger runs through my veins
inspiring me to hurt
I throw a clenched fist at the wall
blood staining through my shirt

open wounds bleed
tears dropp from my eyes
the things I tried running from
I soon came to realize

all my fears came true
I lost myself through lies
I could never say those things
when I look you in the eye

A burning sensationg in my heart
when I think of you
the love that you have given me
breaks my heart in two
