My heart feels tangled
in a ball of razor wire.
I try to break free,
but it refuses to let go of me.
The more I fight
the deeper it sinks
and I don't think
I'll ever break free.
Yet rather than giving up
I keep on trying.
Expecting someone
to notice me dying.
Yet here I continue to lay
lost and misunderstood
by everyone including me.
My life has become revolved
around that heart in the wire,
but all I can do is watch
and hope I can get higher.
I hope I one day break free
but until then
I just have to keep being me...
