Heartsongs Poem by Ann Mckeeman

Heartsongs

There is a candle lit within my heart

it is not proud, nor wide, nor tall

I am only 'me' after all

This flame is single, warm and true

burning ever, never dimmed, seeking to send

a thought of love to every friend

My skin may go, bones turn to dust

The me I am within that flame

has always been, remains the same

So take your day, your life, your heart

make a way this moment to see

you have one too, just like me..

(What will you do, speak, say and dream, to light and nourish your own true flame? )

you are so loved.....
