Heat Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Heat

Heat

In the heat of the tropical rainforest
He discovered he belonged
To the mango trees and long monsoons.
He wanted to discover himself.

In the heat of the desert
He wanted the knowledge
The knowledge with thirst
All about him.

But in the heat of the moment
He learned everything about himself.
The heat of the moment
Showed his serenity.
