Heat Of Feelings Poem by Boston Kelley

Heat Of Feelings

A fire of emotions engulfs me,
Singeing me with their flames.
They roar about me in a maddening spree
And take my body like it were their claim.
Anger in its fiery power clenches my fists;
Despair robs the strength in my knees;
Fear surrounds my mind in frightful mists;
Uncertainty pricks me as if it stung like a bee.
The water of calmness rushes to my aid,
Vanquishing the burning menace.
A cooling zephyr causes the sparks to fade,
Turning dark the enveloping furnace.
