Heat Wave Poem by Kristen Otto

Heat Wave

Outside again the hot wind blowing through my skin
The sun on my face
Beating down
Hot and heavy
My heart starts to race
As the world begins to pace.

I feel like the worlds spinning
Outta control
It's hotter then anything
And
I can not breathe.

It's even hotter inside then out
I feel my world slipping away
I pray
Just one more day.

I can almost see angels coming to rescue me
They lift me up and
Lay me down into
A pool of icy coolness.

I feel refreshed
Ready to start a new
I'm better then ever
For the meantime at least
It's over.
