Hello Poem by Moth Harris

Hello

We used to talk of masks and fragile things
like birds and bees and how the heart stings
now it may just be a hi or hello, as we go
walking our seperate ways but never forgetting the face.

You unique and me oblique, watched hope
and it waves hello. I know I can trust you
and that you look to me, not as a guide but a friend
The message I want to send, isn't just hello.

When we first met, I took a bet on us being friends.
Besides the trends, mends and dead ends,
We've blended together. Slowly we've began to part
I don't want to lose another friend from my heart.

I hold you true, I'd help you to get through
If you needed me to, and I won't let you down.
I won't turn away, like so many would these days.
Through it all I think we'll be okay. Until then I'll say hello.
