Hello My Friend... Poem by JacQuelyn Fields

Allow me to introduce myself… To better understand me, you see; you will need some help…
When you enter the world, you enter me… When you exit: you leave for eternal thee…

I can be extremely hard to bare, and I will at times give you quite a little scare.
I mind you though, not to be frightened since some days I will definitely be to your liking.

Within me you will experience some ups and yes, some downs… I will also clown around to steal away some of your frowns.
At times I will be hard to handle, which will only leave you left with the choice to dangle.

You will experience frustration, sadness, and at times will even believe that you've gone mad. However, if you learn how to look within oneself, and reflect: you will be very glad…
Glad when you discover my "little treasures, " since I can bring you many, many countless pleasures.

Sooner or later I will bring about heartache and shame; I will bring you down so low to where you'll feel "oh, so lame."
Just remember times will ALWAYS get better, I am trying to let you know, therefore, for you is this letter.

I know I am exceedingly tough to deal with, you sometimes will wish that I was only a myth.

Even so, as time goes by: You shall see that I am too real. However, as you grow stronger within me so does your will…
Your will to survive me, though it may be hard. I am very, tricky my friend, so never let down your guard.

Some days I'm hated, some days I'm loved. Some days of me you will not/cannot get enough of!

I can be as sweet as your favorite fruits. Leave me to rot however, and I can become as tasteless as their roots.

Needless to say I am what you make of me; all you choose to do in this world comes with a fee.
So take care of thee, and I'll return the gestures, Being careless with me results in unwanted lectures.

I would have to be rough and give you one of my "lessons." Although, if you learn from your mistakes, then the pain will lessen.

There is no greater teacher than me… Given time you surely will see.
For I will always be here… I continue to go on even when your end is near.

So forgive me, for when I do cause you some stress, and maybe strife.
However, you must get used to me my friend… Because I'm Life…
