Hello Spring Poem by Danilo Cabrera

Hello Spring

sunlight filtering through the trees
that gently waken from the freeze
baby leaves dancing with a breeze
that carries warmth and life with ease

flowers appear alongside bees
who find them all with expertise
the gift of pollen they release
the same stuff that makes me sneeze

soon birds arrive from overseas
finches, robins and crazy geese
their journey has no guarantees
they're weary, they have absentees

early critters the moment seize
at last they shed their winter fleece
looking opposite from obese
their puny weight they must increase

young creatures learn their abc's
they play and sleep at their caprice
all day long each other they tease
their watchful mom everything sees

its yet another spring reprise
thank you nature you bring me peace
its for you that I write this piece
your beauty brings me to my knees
