Hello Stranger, Old Writer's Friend Poem by Anisha Nyambe

Hello Stranger, Old Writer's Friend

Rating: 5.0

hello stranger, we meet again
hello old writer's friend, what game do you play?

good day to you, reader
why do you pretend
to care for my words

when I know,
you know,
we all know

that you will erase this poem from your mind
once you are done reading all this.

hello stranger, old writer's friend
who holds the beginning
and who controls the end?

and I know,
you know,
we all know

that the warnings we heed
are the warnings we need
and the paths we follow
lead to forest's hearts so hollow.

hello stranger, reader of the end
pretender that pretends
that he has never been my friend.

hello beautiful,
my awful comrade
who shook my hand once
and my confidence afterwards.

then there is the soul
who holds the beginning
and controls the end.

are you the end?

and I know
you know,
we all know

that you and I
will never see eye to eye

so to you, I say goodbye.

goodbye stranger, old writer's friend.
