Help! I'm Pregnant Poem by Abdelwaheb dhaou

Help! I'm Pregnant

A poem tribute to the lady caught hanging at the window of the concert hall during the Paris carnage.

Help! I'm pregnant.

She was perilously clutching
Tooth and nail to the castrated window
She thought would harbor her panic
And placate her disarray

Bellowing her throat out
Ripping out the numbness of the scene
Please help! Help!
I'm conjuring your chivalry

Help me salvage my asylum
Conquer anew my shield
Convalesce my autonomy
Safeguard my peculiarity

Withstand my chastity
Help! I'm pregnant
I'm gravid with nativity inside my bursting gut
Gusto indoors my veins

Don't let bête noir
Torpedo our culture, propagate abhorrence
Pilfer our grin,
Terminate our jubilation

The aftermath of our salvation
Is every inch in your hands
Is inside my conceiving belly
So lend me your hands....
