Helplessness Poem by Bea Hayden

Helplessness

My heart snapped.
A perpetual consciousness of the
moment
you walk through a spider's web.
A sheer helplessness falls over you, as you
cannot begin to reverse disaster.
Your lower lip trembles, brow furrows,
and a relentless gasp of fear reverberates
as your body begins to corrode.
