Her Birthday Poem by Richard Weissman

Her Birthday

Uncamouflaged warrior silent stalking dawn,
Parsing pills - blue, yellow, red,
Exhale - dispel bleak nightmares,
Inhale - hold fast the circled triangular dream.
Battle-strengthened warriors hoarse whisper,
"On.Now right."
And palm you northward, out from Hell.
Though scars deep mock sad weary fight,
Glimmered victory stars each eye still,
"Keep aim,
Hold true to sights."
Now squinting clear… and peace washes over.
Gracing you another birthday.
Joyous tears, smiling through,
This magic year,
Life journey renews.
