Her Return To The Tuong River Poem by Natasa To

Her Return To The Tuong River

Her Return to the Tương River

She returns, passing the Tương River landing,
Evening clouds cast long shadows; a farewell lingers in the air.
The small boat drifts silently in,
Carrying the sweet nostalgia of days gone by.

Someone sits amidst the rain,
Gathering memories to weave into verse.
Though separated by the span of a dream,
The heart still waits upon the Tương's banks.

As she returns, the sunlight softens,
And flowers by the old landing seem to greet her in wonder.
A word left unspoken in the past
Flows down the river to reach this very day.

If, in time, our hair turns gray,
May a touch of sweetness remain within the heart.
The Tương River flows on in silence;
She returns—leaving a lingering shadow in my soul.
