Her Song Poem by Takudzwa Majoni

Her Song

I had a strange liking to the song she loved
It used to come up on radio and I would suddenly see her
Not saying my imaginations were frivolous but they felt surreal
My skin crawled with goosebumps and my beart pulsed an extra beat after every extra beat
Sweat and excitement itches pierced my under arms and chest hair...and my face
It almost felt like she was again playing it
From her small phone she used to text me from
Her song, my song, our song
The song i used to not even like or love
Only its existence and its boomerang effects kept me acting a fool
I would wish there was someone to understand that she meant the world and every little town to me

Currently listening to
"Backstreet Boys _ I want it that way"
