She told me that I was her boyfriend
Love messages to me she would always send,
She satisfied me as if she were my Mrs
With hugs and with her gentle kisses.
When she was hungry we went out to eat
Of course it was always my happy treat,
And in her kitchen it was never bare
Because, I always made sure that she had food there.
Whenever she needed fuel for her automobile
With gas in her tank I would always fill,
And whenever she ever needed a ride
I'd pick her up and take her wherever she wanted with pride.
Whenever she wanted her hair done
She always asked me to take her to the beauty salon,
And I never got angry or ever upset
When she asked me to pay that debt.
New clothes for her I would always buy
Because, I hated to see her depressed or cry,
And I would always treat her good
Treated her lovingly as every man should.
She told me constantly how much that she loved me
But, I was the only who could hear or see,
Then she told me not to tell anyone about us
Because, she didn't want no one to make a fuss.
She is not with me anymore
Though she enriched my spirit by making me poor,
But, no matter how you look at it or how you call it
I wasn't her boyfriend, I was just her wallet.
