From chaos, there I found you
Gives an answer and a clue
From the mysterious life I had
You are the missing piece and my award.
Your sunburnt complexion, your idealistic loftiness,
Your timidity, serenity that gives an ounce of solemness.
You are heaven in camouflage
You are an Angel and my heritage.
Brilliancy in playing the melody
Your music that becomes my remedy.
You're a fallible and imperfect deity
A star in my nights and a dream to my reality
I am not wishing to be your destiny
But I am hoping to be part of your company
Enough to glimpse your sweet sweet smile
I could stake a run even a mile.

This may be an impossible wish, or at least a hard one to attain, but I found it eminently reasonable. That's because your tone is so measured, even assured. There's no desperation or panic displayed, just a sincere (that's the right word) confidence that your wish can be fulfilled without disrupting lives, or compromising anyone. It's fulfillment will not cause an unwanted ripple but will cause the happiness of the poet and her chosen one. I like the dimensions of this poem, its persuasiveness, its overall good will. This is what we mean by the pursuit of happiness, that is, we are already living within that happiness.
Daniel Brick, thank you so much for giving an appreciation for this poem. Thank you!
